At the consultation a detailed examination of your mouth will be carried out including measuring full pocket depths with the Florida probe. The Florida probe is a computer controlled pocket measuring device which provides a more accurate and pain free examination of the gums. A full range of dental radiographs will also be taken as needed. The findings will then be discussed with you, along with all the options, to enable you to make an informed decision on how you wish to proceed.
A treatment plan that details the treatment with the relevant fees is given to you.
In some cases a CT scan may be necessary which we are also able to offer at this centre and the results of this special type of xray are available immediately. In more complex cases you may also have a joint consultation with Dr BS Ubhi (specialist periodontist) and Dr GS Bhirth or Dr S Saha (specialist prosthodontist) to discuss the final treatment plan.
If you decide to proceed with treatment then the relevant appointments will be made.
A full report is sent to your referring dentist and this will include a copy of the Florida Probe chart. We can also send the digital radiographs taken at the centre if requested. Your dentist will be kept informed of your progress during your treatment at the centre.
We are able to offer credit facilities should you wish to spread payments over time.
We know that some dentists prefer to carry out the restorative phase of implant therapy themselves. If this is the case, you will be referred back following implant placement. A report will be sent to your dentist detailing the system used and confirmation that your dentist may proceed with final the restoration.
If your dentist wishes to do this phase under some guidance, this can also be arranged at BPI dental.
