After graduating from Liverpool University in 1992 and I went into general dental practice after completing vocational training in Merseyside. After working as a general dentist for 18 months I started a 2 year postgraduate Masters degree in Periodontology at Liverpool University. This was completed in 1997 and I subsequently became a part time lecturer in the Periodontal Department. In 2000 after passing the Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons (England) I was entered onto the General Dental Council’s specialist register in Periodontics. I have been accepting referrals from other dentists for advanced periodontal care and dental implantology since 1996. Since 1997 I have taught at both Liverpool University and Birmingham University Dental Schools. I have given lectures both nationally and internationally on periodontics and the surgical aspects implantology and bone/soft tissue augmentation. Between 2006 and 2010 I have run a 10 day dental implant training programme for other dentists at BPI dental . In addition, I am also a Simplant trainer and provide clinical coaching for different implant systems. Since 1995 I have placed over 2500 dental implants with a success rate of 98 % over these 15 years. I am also an active member of the British Society of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology and the Association of Dental Implantology.

Following graduation in December 1991 from the University of Leeds I entered general practice. I have undertaken a wide range of treatments over the past 20 years. In 1998 I gained membership of the faculty of General Dental Practice at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I have pursued a special interest in endodontics (root fillings). I attended the ‘Art of Endodontics’ course in 2005 with Stephen Buchanan (one of the world’s leading endodontists) in Santa Barbara, USA. In 2009 I was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics with distinction from the University of Chester. Currently I am a member of the British Dental Association , Academy of Dental Implantology, Faculty of General Dental Practice and British Endodontic Society. In my spare time I enjoy playing football and spending time with my wife and children.

I am certified provider of the both the Invisalign and Inman Aligner systems, which can be an alternative to conventional metal braces.
I am also fully trained in non-surgical techniques for facial aesthetics, (the removal and prevention of lines and wrinkles)
To help with treating nervous and anxious patients I can provide IV sedation.
Outside dentistry, I am enjoy my other passions of photography, long walks in the Lake district and football.

I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2001 with a Distinction in clinical dentistry. I completed my vocational training the year after. Having a desire to pursue specialist training I worked as a Senior House Officer at Birmingham Dental Hospital in Restorative Dentistry and Oral Surgery. I then worked as a Senior House Officer at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. In 2004 I embarked upon specialist training in restorative dentistry, which I completed in 2010. Since then I have worked as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Birmingham Dental Hospital and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as well as carrying out some general dental practice.
I have authored several publications in peer –reviewed dental journal and have co-authored a textbook “Contemporary Periodontal Surgery. “I have an interest in treating patients with dental anxiety and am trained in providing sedation to help with this. In my spare time I am kept busy with my young family and I enjoy cooking, walking, travelling, and running and recently I managed to complete my first marathon!

I have been involved in dentistry since 1991 and have been a qualified dental nurse since 1993. I am fully qualified and trained in taking dental radiographs having completed my postgraduate radiographic qualification in 2004. My sedation qualification which I gained in 2005 enables me to be an essential member of the dental sedation team. My registration with the GDC ensures that I am always fully up to date with my continuing professional development. Originally I joined the practice as a dental nurse in 2004 and currently I am the practice manager. Outside of work I enjoy attending the gym, watching movies and spending time with my husband and children.
I always aim to empathise with my patient’s worries and fears and am always available to chat about their issues I constantly attend courses related to my work to ensure I am up to date with the latest treatments and products available and am trained in needle free anaesthesia techniques and sedation.

Before qualifying as a dental hygienist I worked for 8 years in and around Birmingham as a dental nurse and college tutor. I completed my dental hygiene diploma in 2004 having studied at Birmingham University; I was awarded the Oral B cup for achieving the highest marks in the final examinations and the GlaxoSmithKline award for patient motivation. I joined BPID immediately after graduation so that I could further my skills as a dental hygienist by treating more complex cases and gaining more experience in implantology. In my free time I predictably enjoy spending time with my loved ones, touring the globe in a Judith Chalmers fashion and recording all for prosperity with my trusty Nikon camera. I’m also a domestic goddess and cupcake queen….so I have been told!
I have a caring nature and pay attention to detail and work in a thorough, but gentle way. I enjoy interacting with a range of different people in a field, in which, I am very passionate about and get great job satisfaction at the end of a patients treatment journey that enables them to wear their smile with pride!

I have been in the Dental industry for over 14 years and have gained valuable experience in many areas of dentistry having worked at a variety of specialist and general dental practices. My career started with A-levels and by working as a Qualified Dental Nurse before moving on to qualify as a Dental Hygienist at Birmingham Dental Hospital, in 2006. I also studied and trained abroad in Finland which was a very interesting and valuable experience. I am fully up to date and practice all dental hygienist permitted clinical duties, and keep up to date with the latest dental advances by attending a wide variety of postgraduate courses. I am registered with the General Dental Council. I joined the Birmingham Periodontal and Implant Centre in 2006 and strive to provide the highest quality of comfort and care to patients whilst working to prevent and control periodontal disease and promote dental health. Outside of work my 1 year old son, Max, keeps me very busy but I enjoy socialising with family and friends, reading and walking our pet Miniature Schnauzer dog, Jess.

My interest in dentistry started at school during work experience where I spent two weeks at a dental practice in Dudley. Since then I went on to complete my degree as a Dental Therapist at the University of Portsmouth. Outside of work I enjoy the gym, running, fishing, DIY and spending time with my family.
I started my career as a dental assistant straight from high school when my family and I emigrated to New Zealand in 2005. I have recently returned to the UK in June and can now be found behind the reception desk working along side the lovely team at BPI Dental. I have already gained so much more knowledge over the past few months and can’t wait to further my dental career here.

I have been working at BPI dental since April 2016, I am enjoying my time here so far and have gained lots of experience. I work alongside both Dr Ubhi and Dr Bhirth. I am hoping to start a dental radiography course in the near future to further my career as a dental nurse.
